Discover Barossa Valley

The Barossa is a little over an hour’s drive from Adelaide.  While the Barossa is famous for time-honored wine names such as Penfolds, Orlando and Henschke, the rural region also offers a rich blend of the tranquil and traditional.

Nineteenth century European influences are see in the churches, shops and homes in towns like Lyndoch, Angaston and Eden Valley.  Settled mainly by immigrant Lutherans, the Barossa iis passionate about celebrating its heritage and traditions.  ‘Slow food’ owes much to the culinary techniques and farming practices that are alive and well her;  you’ll see their fruits on specially designed trail of traditional butchers, bakers and wine makers; you’ll also find them at the lively Barossa Farmers’ Market in Angaston.

Of course, the Barossa will always be about the wine!  Visit the iconic Jacob’s Creek and see the incredible views from the Mengler Hill Lookout, the incredible 20,000-plant rose gardens at Chateau Barrosa and the Wolf Blass Visitor Center.  For the perfect souvenir, try your hand as a winemaker at Penfolds Nuriootpa winery, put on a lab coat, mix varieties to taste and have it bottles and labelled with you name on it!
