Description
Traveling to Kenya and Tanzania offers an unforgettable adventure through some of Africa's most iconic landscapes and wildlife-rich destinations. Both countries are renowned for their safaris, vibrant cultures, and diverse natural beauty.
Kenya, the gateway to, and commercial hub of, East Africa, is a popular choice for travelers seeking a classic African safari experience.
Nairobi, the capital, has a lively arts scene and not to be missed sites like the Giraffe Centre and David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
Masai Mara is the original safari destination, and never disappoints. The Mara’s diversity of wildlife, and the opportunity to do a hot air balloon flight over the savannah make it a mainstay on every Kenya itinerary.
Lake Nakuru is a rhino sanctuary, as well as being popular with birders; over 400 species, including flocks of pink flamingoes, can be seen here.
Amboseli National Park is home to huge herds of elephants and offers stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Across the southern border, in Tanzania, lies Tarangire National Park, a small but mighty park where huge numbers of elephant wander through stands of baobab trees down to the river.
Lake Manyara is where the elusive tree-climbing lion, and a multitude of other animals and birds reside.
Ngorongoro Crater, often called the "Eighth Wonder of the World," is a must-see for its spectacular topography and wildlife.
The Serengeti, another prime safari destination, is known for its vast plains and large variety of game.
Kenya and Tanzania are known for the Great Migration; millions of wildebeest and zebras making their annual circular trek, grazing and browsing through both countries in search of food.
