After getting to know Hanoi,  transfer to Ha Long Bay a UNESCO World Heritage Site that enchants visitors with its surreal landscape of emerald waters dotted with thousands of limestone karsts, topped with lush greenery. Explore hidden caves, secluded beaches, and floating fishing villages aboard your traditional wooden junks. Watch the sun set and rise, casting a golden glow over the tranquil waters. Practice Tai Chi on deck before breakfast. 

Heading south, fly to Hue the former imperial capital of Vietnam, and a treasure trove of history and culture. Explore the majestic Imperial City, with its citadel walls and ornate palaces, reflecting the grandeur of the Nguyen Dynasty. Discover the tranquil Perfume River, lined with ancient pagodas and scenic landscapes. From Hue, drive to Hoi An a living museum of ancient architecture and cultural heritage. Explore its atmospheric streets lined with preserved merchant houses, lantern-lit alleys, and centuries-old temples. Discover the Japanese Covered Bridge, a symbol of Hoi An's multicultural past, and immerse yourself in its bustling markets and artisan workshops. Continuing south, fly to Saigon, or as it is officially known, Ho Chi Minh City.  Saigon is Vietnam’s vibrant economic and cultural hub. Explore its bustling streets filled with motorbikes, colonial-era architecture, and modern skyscrapers. Visit iconic landmarks like the Notre-Dame Cathedral and War Remnants Museum, which provide insight into the city's tumultuous past.   • Day 1 Hanoi Sunset

    Day 1: Hanoi

    Upon arrival at Hanoi Airport, you will be transferred to your accommodation for the following two nights, Pan Pacific Hanoi Hotel. Rest of day at leisure.

    Day 2: Hanoi

    After breakfast, embark on a full day tour of the highlights of Hanoi. You’ll visit Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum, his former house and lush garden. A short walk away is the One Pillar Pagoda, a 11th-century wooden temple built on a single stone pillar in the water. Pass by the Presidential Palace to one of the oldest pagodas in Vietnam, Tran Quoc. Visit the venerable Temple of Literature built in 1077.  Head on to Hoan Kiem Lake to visit the historical Ngoc Son Temple. Ngoc Son Temple is reached via the red painted, wooden The Huc (Rising Sun) Bridge. In the evening, see a Water Puppet Show - a fantastic art form originating in northern Vietnam. (B)

    Day 3: Ha Long Bay

    Drive from Hanoi to Halong Bay, arrive at the harbor and board your junk in time for lunch. Your afternoon includes a cave visit and floating farm tour as well as time to relax on the beach or on your boat.  (B,L,D)

    Day 4: Hue

    Start your day by joining a Tai Chi lesson on the sundeck. Breakfast  will be served as you cruise back to the port. Disembark from the cruise and drive back to Hanoi Airport for your flight to Phu Bai Airport (airfare not included).  On arrival in Hue, transfer to your hotel for the following two nights, Silk Path Grand Hue Hotel and Spa Rest of day at leisure.     Day 5: Hue

    Start the day by visiting seven-story Thien Mu Pagoda by boat.  Then, pass through the imposing Ngo Mon Gate to the Royal Imperial City complex where you will see impressive architecture and tombs of former rulers.  (B)

  • Day 6 Hoi An Street Scene

    Day 6: Danang and Hoi An

    A twisting winding road, sudden bends, views that take your breath away… welcome to the Hai Van Pass. Drive along this incredible mountain pass on the way to Danang.  Danang is home to beaches made famous by American soldiers during the Vietnam War, several quirky bridges and the wonderful Cham Museum. Stop at the Marble Mountains - a group of limestone and marble hills filled with caves.  Arrive in Hoi An and check in to your hotel for the following three nights, Allegro Hoi An Hotel Rest of day at leisure.     Day 7: Hoi An

    In the morning, take a city tour of Hoi An. Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and European influences make this ancient town a photographers' paradise. Walk through the narrow streets of the old quarter past ochre-hued stone houses, lantern-filled shops and colorful fishing boats. The most iconic sight is the Japanese Covered Bridge. Afternoon at leisure. (B, L)

  • Day 9 Saigon dusk PX

    Day 9: Saigon

    Transfer to Danang airport for your flight to Saigon (not included). On arrival in Saigon, head to the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels, stretching for over 120 miles, which changed the course of the Vietnam War. Learn about the life of the Vietcong and venture into some of the tunnels. Check in to your hotel for the following two nights  Mai House Saigon Hotel. (B)

    Day 10: Saigon

    Spend the day with your guide touring Saigon. Visit: Rue Catinat, Reunification Palace, Emperor of Jade Pagoda, Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post Office, Ben Thanh Market and Cholon. (B)

  • Day 11 Mekong Delta PX

    Day 11: Saigon

    Spend the day at the Mekong Delta. Travel by motor boat and see the villagers going about their daily lives.  Cycle to a farm and learn what crops are grown. Enjoy a home hosted lunch. Return to Saigon for your last evening in Vietnam. (B,L)
